Yesterday we took a daytrip to the Pacific coast, to Punta Leona (a resort that offered an easy day with access to pools, showers & a restaurant as well as the beach). We were awed by the wildlife, all within 3 feet of water:
- a big, 1 1/2 ft yellow (?) snapper
- a beautiful, 2 foot wide spotted ray
- a school of puffer fish
- some gorgeous blue & brown spotted fishes
- a giant (1 1/2 ft) blue speckled fish caught by a spearfisherman
- brown pelicans
We also caught a small flock of scarlett macaws from afar. And some bright yellow and red butterflies. It’s really amazing to see such wildlife!
