It’s been a while.
Tiny Grass started way back in 2006 as a place for us to talk about our life parenting young children. Back then, I was writing about all sorts of things – education, surviving life with young kids, diapers, crunchy stuff, and international travel. From my memory, we were trying to figure out how to be parents. Like most parents, we were processing our own childhoods while figuring out how to do things in a way that worked for us.
In July of 2012 we just stopped writing. We’d had some sad things happen in our extended family and we were dealing with another major move in our lives, from Texas to Florida, with a short stint in New York in between. So, from 2012 until now (the end of 2023), there was no Tiny Grass. We continued to unschool, running one co-op and participating in others. My kids kept growing up and I made it to the end of 18 years of constant breastfeeding. Then covid struck and a housing crisis unfolded, some of the worst of which was right in Florida. So we moved. Again. This time in North Carolina.
